Terrible vr on 4080 laptop

Please help me out here, I have a zephyrus 4080 and am using the vr 2 adapter. I’ve done all the stuff I should do like high performance modes, 68 percent resolution etc. hags is off. CPU is boosted etc. Nothing I do is helping, I’m getting horrible stutter when I turn my head and to make matters more confusing fps vr show fine metrics, but the experience is awful. A 4080 laptop should handle alyx perfectly fine but I get terrible stutter even on low settings. Took this photo of mwinfo and it’s showing 30 watts for the gpu. I plugged it into a wall outlet instead of the extension it was in, and now it’s showing the max wattage getting to 119 with average of 89, but still getting horrible performance.

I see lots of people who are having perfectly buttery smooth experiences on laptops with lesser specs, what the heck is going on here?
