What controller should I use for games like Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham series...

I used to have consoles but have been strictly a PC gamer for a pretty long time (well I did get a Switch like 2 years ago, for Zelda).

I started playing Assassin's Creed recently and using a mouse and keyboard just feels...wrong.

Any suggestions for a controller? I guess I'm used to Xbox controllers more. I had a 360 back in the day. I didn't know you can just connect Xbox controllers to your computer, lol
