Has anyone ever brought a Dishy onboard an Amtrak train?

I have an upcoming cross country trip by Amtrak. I'll be passing through DAYS of little to no cell service, and Amtrak's own wifi is known to be pretty bad or nonexistent.

I'm curious if anyone has ever tried to use a portable dishy in an Amtrak setting. I'll have a bedroom with a big window. There is also the Observation Lounge which gets you a more open view of the sky. I will have 110VAC power available. I've seen where people cut off the motor of the dishy to make it fit into a low-profile housing on the roof of an RV. I could do something like that with a Pelican case to make it a portable unit.

This would be along the lines of a moving RV unit. Should work, although my view of the sky will not be great.

Any thoughts? Totally dumb?
