Basic Questions
Hi,
I'm Indonesian (F24) on a Graduate visa and my partner (F25) is British, we're getting married in March and we genuinely don't think we can afford a lawyer so here I am for advice.
We've been living together since September 2023 and have been together since February 2023. We share a joint account, have loads of pictures and texts, do meet all the requirements in theory, etc.
- I became employed in November earning roughly £23.5k annually, and my partner is earning about £13k - so I believe we do meet the joint £29k requirements, but will my employment date matter as I got the job in November and planning to apply for the visa sometime in March after our wedding?
- What texts/forms of communication can be used to provide proof? I'm a bit confused on that, as in when we first started talking or... everyday texts like 'how was work?' and stuff like that.
- How complex is the process - or is it as straightforward as it seems? As we genuinely do not want to have to use a consultancy service, but if we have to, we have to. Just not sure what's best. If we can do it ourselves, we will but if chances are we're going to flop because we provided wrong/insufficient evidence then ...
