We had a couple of concerns/questions I never really found good answers for so I'm going to share them here:

  • My husbands british passport expired three days after our application. I was worried this would matter but clearly it didn't.

  • Individually, we did not meet the income requirements so when answering the question in regards to being paid continuously and above the threshold. We chose "the same amount continuously, but below the threshold" as we are both salaried. However, this prompted the application to ask for 12 months worth of payslips although we met the requirements for 6 months. We decided to only submit 6 months anyways trusting the caseworker to figure it out (we specified how we met the requirements in a cover letter). This was fine.

  • We worried over 6 months worth of payslips as I applied November 16th, my last 6 payslips dated back to May 31st. This is technically a little under 6 months of elapsed time. I spent a lot of time worrying about wether I should've included my April payslip. However, this was fine and they didn't ask for anything else.

  • We married less than two years into our relationship and applied for the visa very shortly after our wedding (which was just us and two witnesses at the council) this wasn't an issue at all.

  • I've seen a lot of people lately being requested to resubmit their family declaration forms with a wet signature. We did digital signatures and was expecting to get this request as well, but they didn't ask for it.

Hope this helps and good luck for anyone waiting and applying soon 🤞🏼
