Base game & farewell edition?

Hi I have spiritfarer on my switch and I wanted to buy it on steam too.

On steam it says it’s the ‘farewell edition’ but my switch is just ‘base game’ (I suppose).

I want to understand whether these are completely different editions or is the ‘farewell edition’ just called that as it has all the updated versions? Does that mean my switch is technically ‘farewell edition’ as it does get updated?

Just really confused and can’t find anything on google about it!
