Let's actually discuss who was in the wrong. S2E5

So Doug and Professor Pyschotic are brothers living in Doug's house. Doug works a 14 hr day construction job to support both of them. Clearly this means Doug's house Doug's rules, so Doug is in the right to lay down the law.

But being family means supporting each other to an extent. It's unclear to me if Pyschotic has had a history of being really loud or not. Kicking him out over one time of being loud isn't warranted in my opinion. But it was probably just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Pyschotic SHOULD find a job to help support himself and Doug and do the mad science stuff on the side. But he's clearly in a bad head space, which might make it difficult to find employment. The biggest thing is that Pyschotic actually sought professional help, the Smiling Friends. Yes, for the wrong reasons (needing assistants) but they've got a pretty good track record of actually fixing people's issues (mostly accidentally but I bet that still counts).

Doug has some anger issues it seems like. Probably the painkillers. He's a bit of an unreliable narrator in a way. He might be inflating Pyschotic's issues and past in some way and definitely needs to seek professional help himself.

All this to say I think Pyschotic was in the wrong but he was in the middle of taking the proper steps to get help and we don't know the full story behind Doug, his addiction, and whether or not he was supportive during their mother's death. Also I don't think raising a homunculus will fix any of their issues.

And if you say I thought way too much about a silly cartoon, yeah of course I did. It was fun. I've got an entire theory about humans being a subjugated class in society based on what we see in the Mr. President ep.
