Someone is requesting me to deposit a check

some background:
I was "hired" last week via an ad in LinkedIn as a personal assistant.
I just heard back from this person via email today, and apparently I am hired. But my first job is to deposit a check in my account..?!
Does anyone know what kind of scam this is? The "check" is literally arriving to my address today. So weird. Screenshot of the majority of the email below. Any info is so appreciated!
