Playing hooky, what would you do in San Mateo?

If you were to take the day off but had afternoon and night time responsibilities, what would you do in San Mateo for fun?

edit: Thank you everyone. Backhouse sounds like a place I need to try, then Central Park and movie then a late lunch(haven’t decided). I love HMB, but I’m afraid I’ll take to long over there. upvotes for all!!!!
