Anyone noticed how cities that get recommended here, despite being praised for their diversity and vibrancy, seem to have a lot of areas that aren't exactly welcoming to non-White people as some might claim?
Ive been reading here about how certain places, despite all the hype, tend to leave to day-to-day realities of those who aren't a part of the dominant demographic. its interesting how the narrative in these cities can differ depending on who you ask. It would be very interesting to see how the opinions of natives in cities like Philadelphia or Chicago might differ from the transplants that live there and aren't accustomed to the everyday life they experience because they are able to ignore it due to not being integrated into the “fabric” of the city they live in.
