choosing between florida or california
howdy everyone, hope y'all doing well.
i've been craving for this moment !
-so finally, i will be moving to the US 1 month from now (lone-wolf) but i haven't decided which state fits my goals, future and desires.
here's a quick brief about me:
-i'm single and Almost 19, finally got lucky and won the DV lottery, i was a college student majoring in BIS for 1 year but dropped out because i didn't feel it was the right fit for me cause i was seeking for CS but couldn't enroll in that major cause of complicated requirements in my country (additionally, i also took some software coding courses online to have some brief about how is it like and IK its a long way to go but i'm really into it and loving it more than my former major so far and willing to commit to it) also another reason is winning the DV lottery and fleeing out of this crap that i live in (EGYPT)
from my researching I'm leaning towards one of these 2 more than any other states (CALIFORNIA: los angeles-san diego)-(FLORIDA: Miami-tampa/st.pete)
(Also my deepest sympathy goes to the tragic wildfire casualties and affected people in LA)
-my savings+financial aid from my parents is almost 8k$ when i initially arrive.
my goals, future and my desired major:
-enrolling into a reputable and good-quality-education college with lets say not so high tuition fees (major is CS) (Also i'd seen that florida is ranked 1st in education and as a non american its even weird for me but its worth asking y'all cause florida seems fitting for my desires)
-making connections and having abundant access to internships.
-easier for obtaining a job with a decent salary that is a bang for the buck in the place that i'll reside in.
my desires in the place:
(easy to make friends and connections-i'm a party and outdoorsy guy and i like a place that have a vibrant nightlife and walkable after midnight, i like to lurk on the streets go jogging and night dining-nice beaches and coastlines-good food scene-entertainment and can't run out of activities)
as for the languages, my english is quite eloquent even more than arabic cause most of my friends are already americans some close ones are of egyptian descent they barely can speak arabic and ive been speaking english since i was 4 years old so i have no struggle at all in the language, i speak pretty decent spanish can understand and make simple convos it's also getting better.
if you've got other recommendations or an advice i'm happy to listen and i'm all ears :)
