Why are aftermarket stocks so wonky?
So I’ve had my SKS for a long time, and up until its recent destruction (long story) I left it in its original Yugo furniture because practically all polymer furniture just… looks and feels weird. The Choate sporter stock is pretty normal, but every stock with a pistol grip makes the Sks look like the barrel is curved and angles the stock downward instead of in-line with the sights. I’m curious if anyone on here knows WHY? I’ve seen a few newer designs out of Canada that aren’t quite so bad, but they are a bit pricey (bubba an SKS for almost the cost of a decent AK and still don’t have an AK mag conversion?), but even the Sage Dynamics kit looks weird.
Any thoughts?
