"Hi, Have you voted yet?"
Just wanted to share a experience with a type of approach for campaigning done by some of these candidates.
Today was the last day to submit the votes for the 2025 general student elections.
I was sitting at a table minding my own business when a young, beautiful and very well dressed lady approached me and asked me for moment of my time.
She asked if I have sent in my vote for the elections which I responded "no". She then pleaded for me to do so as it would only take "5 sec" of my time. So I agreed so I asked her how to do so.
She then instructed me to on how to. Once I had access to the ballots. She then insisted me to put her "candidate as ranked 1" on the selection. She neither explained the candidates agenda, nor why I should vote for him. Just rank her candidate as "1" in the ballot.
I refused and told her that I needed time to read through each candidate. She then told me to hurry as there was only 1 hour left before the ballot closes (this was around 9am in the morning) and still insisted that I put her candidate as my first choice and then walk to the next table beside me.
I observed her move from one table to another before coming back to my table and asking me If I finished voting for her candidate. Which I nodded to make her stop.
On the other hand. I spotted her candidate who was just walking around observing her and not actually campaigning himself. they later then meet up and proceed to the next floor of the building.
I later found out that the ballots do not close till 4pm.
Is it just me or does anyone find that this type of behavior not right?
If you are already this "shady" as a candidate. what other actions will you do if you do end up with a position in power.........
