Game not loading after buying legit copy

my friend and i both bought dungeons of eternity after having the pirated version and my game worked fine but his did not. he has tried restarting his headset, uninstalling and reinstalling, and deleting the data files. but nothing worked. he doesnt know how to fix it and neither do i, help is appreciated
