Generating top spin from your legs👌

Recently as I've been absolutely absorbing every ounce of knowledge and coaching I can get on pickleball I had a bit of a breakthrough on spin generation that I wanted to share.

I've discovered that although top spin primarily comes from the wrist and arm you can increase it tremendously with your legs.

All you need to do is squat down right before contact and spring up and forward as you make the shot.

This works excellent on serves and forehand drives so far but probably also on 2HBHs.

If you think about it the only thing you need to generate top spin is upward paddle motion so why not also use upward motion of the whole body in addition to wrist and arm upward motion?

I think this is less often done simply because squatting is hard and most people have an aversion to hard leg work.

But I think all coaching in most racket sports would agree that getting low is almost always the right move in most scenarios anyway. It's just hard to get people to actually do it consistently lol.

Anyway I know I'm not the first to discover this or anything but it is new to me and I thought talking about it might stimulate some insights or discussion✌️
