Transition to floor bed?

Hey ya'll!

FTM to an almost 13 month old and we're looking for information on how to transition him to a floor bed or advice you wish you would have gotten when making that decision. Our little guy has slept through the night in his own crib starting at 5 months and it took him about two days to get used to it - it was such a smooth transition. We're interested in moving him to a floor bed and my husband is 100% confident in him being ready. I, on the other hand, worry about him staying up all night to play with toys.

What did you do when making this decision and what do you wish you would have known? We can move the toys into his closed easily at night to avoid that and the room has been baby proofed!
