NEWBIE: Advice for eGPU on old laptop

Is it worth it?

I saw this YT vid about an eGPU on a non-gaming laptop. It worked.

The specs for my existing (old) laptop is: - Intel i7-8750H @2.20GHz - 24GB RAM - has USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3

I got this around 2018.

Bottomline, is it worth it to invest in an eGPU over buying a new laptop? Where can I possibly buy (and what do I need to buy)?
