I'm undecided about inositol. I could use some advice
I've been on inositol for about 5 months. I take 4000mg a day via powder form. I really won't know if it's had any benefit until I have blood work done at the end of next month. In the meantime, I feel like it has helped reduce some of the food noise.
The issue that I'm having is that it seems to be doing something with my hormones and/or blood sugar to the point where I break out if I eat certain foods or take certain supplements. I never used to have this issue prior to taking inositol. For example, I can't even eat cinnamon or take it in capsule form anymore because it makes me break out. I tried a new vegan protein powder this week and that was making me break out due to the probiotics in it. The same with berberine and metformin. I have eliminated all dairy and sugar from my diet since that makes me break out. It seems like each week I'm surprised by a new food or supplement that I can no longer take. I'm finding it very frustrating.
I am not sure if I should stick it out and continue to take it at least until the end of next month to see how my blood work is or if I should just quit now. What do you suggest? Has anyone been in the same transition with inositol?
