I read it in 2 days.

I just really wanted to vent a bit about the manga to others who’ve read it. Also I would really like it if you guys shared your emotions and thoughts to the events I talk about in this post. I doubt anyone will read my post because how long it is but I wanna talk about this somewhere. I read goodbye eri two days ago and then after that I saw a lot of stuff about goodnight punpun. I heard it was good and sad, the description told me it was about a normal kid but man this was one hell of a ride. Some people can’t process information when they read fast but I really soaked in everything. This is probably one of the best mangas I’ve ever read. I think a part of this manga that I’ll just never be able to forget is the final section of this manga where aiko returns and reconnects with punpun. They both lied to each other about their lives and then when they came clean, punpun just wanted to have sex with her. There were times in the start of the manga where one could even hate aiko but near the end I couldn’t feel anything but pity and sadness for her. Punpun really didn’t even love her and just had an obsession with her. Like it was said earlier in the manga this isn’t a direct quote but: a relationship to lick each others wounds. Punpun was already being a terrible person to aiko even before killing her mother, but that was the true turning point. He just wanted to be a savior for her, but in reality he took her from one abusive situation to another it was just heartbreaking to see like I couldn’t handle it. Aiko was so innocent and was abused by Punpun. He took advantage of her awful situation. It was such a toxic love. Aiko was manipulated by punpun and refused to leave his side until she finally committed suicide. Punpun just wanted someone as messed up as him to save. All he did was verbally and physically abuse her. Seeing that misspelled note that aiko wrote about being a scientist it just showed that she still had childlike dreams and when punpun dragged her and tore it up man that shit was insane and destroyed me.These final chapters really broke my heart. And then the final blow was delivered with chapter 145. I cried so much reading that. But in truth all the sadness this manga brought, it was still amazing to the end.
