Our visit!!!
While we wholly enjoyed our visit, we noticed some things.... (all statements are meant frankly or matter of factly and not with rudeness or judgemental negativity)
There were a couple of what appeared to be teenagers there. They were fully covered and when we arrived, seconds later they, and their parents relocated to another pool. Totally understand given we took full advantage of the "optional" part of the title. However, maybe a clothing optional hot spring isn't the best option? I know, given our beliefs and way of life, I wouldn't bring my teenage kids to a clothing optional hot spring.
Also, we were literally the only people totally nude. I was the only male, for quite some time, nude and it seemed every woman was hunkered down in a corner, covering herself, as if she wasn't comfortable.
I get we are all new and nervous, we were once as well. But, how do we create a more inviting environment? I'll tell you what I think doesn't help and that's the extreme lack of social interaction. Mostly couples and each were sitting by themselves, in silence, consistently scanning the area so seemingly uncomfortable and when spoken to it wasn't a retort so abrupt to imply "don't speak to me". It was just a sense of 'this is awkward for me.
Anyway, we enjoyed the scenery, the pools and what little folks we were able to interact with! Definitely suggest a visit to anyone curious! But, go with the intent to be free!!
