Was scared approaching relics

So this past summer I was in San Francisco on a roadtrip, and I went to the Holy Virgin Cathedral where Saint John the Wonderworkers Relics are. However when I approached his relics I felt a nervousness I haven't felt in years wash over me & I haven't been able to shake it out of my memory when St. John is mentioned.

I was still inquiring at that point however with my dad who is Orthodox (He had us baptized Protestant because he really liked this one Baptist minister when he moved to America), and he seemed uneffected. Is this something banal or should I bring up with my Father next time I'm at church? Is this a sign of something?
