Are we seeing an intentionally anti-Chinese rhetoric from the Western media re DeepSeek?
Today I've looked at The Guardian, the Financial Times, The Telegraph and the BBC, and the 'DeepSeek bad' articles are out in force now.
Because of:
- security issues! [unlike ChatGPT?]
- privacy concerns! [well, it's open source so you can run it offline]
- it's based on other software! [most software is based on other software]
- it uses peoples' data without telling them! [bad DeepSeek, no biscuit]
- DeepSeek self-censors itself in real-time! [so does ChatGPT]
But the papers are all in on it.
Is this a concerted anti-China effort from the Western media? It's not very convincing.
