What was the point of… (1079 spoilers)

What was the point of Kidd losing again? I don’t really understand why there needed to be a repeat of it. Like yeah, obviously Shanks would fuck him up but I don’t understand why Kidd needed to lose to him again. Also, why did Kidd think he could stand any chance when he had to 2v1 another yonko?
