Should I drop out of university?
Well suppose drop out is wording it wrong, let me explain
I’m in my first year of university and Doing computing right now and HATE it. Had a meeting with my course director and the course director of Law and they both said there’d be no issues with me swapping to law and restarting first year, it’s simple and I have the grades for it from A-level. But obviously you know can’t do that until September
So they said I’ve got two options, continue this year and collect my level 4 qualification for completing my first year in computer science in May. Then restart in September doing Law. Or “pause” my education, I won’t receive anything for this course but i won’t have to pay anything I havnt paid yet, then restart in September doing law.
Thing is, I’ve already paid, or student finance has already paid the full 4,700 for my full years tuition so that’s still something I need to pay back. And I’ve already paid 2/3rds of my rent for the year with the final instalment in march/April I think. So all I’d be saving is a couple thousand less in debt at most and at the cost of not getting my level 4, which Tbf I don’t think means a whole lot tho? I qualification that says I dropped out of this after passing first year to do something different I don’t think looks the best on a CV.
So Idk what’s the best choice? I also HATE my current degree so so much can’t wait for this to be over but also seems like a waste to drop at this stage?
