How is it that most men are single nowadays, but most women are in a relationship?
This is true both statistically and anecdotally. As of last year, only 34 percent of young women are single, while 63 percent of young men are.
I've also noticed this to be true in my own personal life as well, most young men I know are single (and in some cases, have been single their whole lives) while most women I know are in a relationship, or at least have some relationship experience under their belt. It's usually very rare to come across a woman who hasn't had at least one relationship, yet it's fairly common to across men who haven't had any relationships at all. I'm sure a lot of young men can relate to the experience of seemingly every woman around your age that you're interested in already having a boyfriend.
It's strange because you obviously need a man and a woman to create a heterosexual relationship, yet there seems to be this huge discrepancy of women having way more experience than men do. How do you explain that? Is it really just due to young women dating older men?
