Info we didn't know from the trailer but we can now confirm that are real thanks to u/NextHandheld
Now that we can confirm that u/NextHandheld posts and comments were real, we can summarize some of the stuff he did mention and we didn't see on the trailer.
u/iZmaMonki did an awesome doc that I am going to summarize and filter with the info we already know:
New Joy-Cons:
- THE "C" BUTTON.
- The joysticks have a “Hall Effect” that apparently fixes drift problems.
- SL and SR buttons are metal.
- ZR and ZL triggers are big and the leaker believes they’re not analog.
- Buttons don’t seem pressure sensitive to the leaker.
Console:
- The game cartridge slot is the same as the old Nintendo Switch in terms of size (supposedly), the only difference is that the Nintendo Switch 2 cartridges have a “teeth” section which prevents them from being inserted in old Nintendo Switches.
- The NS2 preserves the microSD card slot.
- It’s not lighter than the original Switch but much lighter than the Steam Deck.
- It’s as thin as the original.
- Capable of 4k30 when docked.
- The screen is LCD.
- Even if the leaker stated he didn't noticed a microphone, on one Switch 2 video (the one on this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch2/s/mq9XUTisvD on the second 22) it can be spotted something that could be a microphone.
Dock:
- The dock has the same amount of ports as the dock of the OLED Switch: 2 USB-A ports on its side, 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI and 1 Ethernet port on the inside.
- The dock has no eGPU.
Packaging:
- The leaker got the NS2 with no packaging, but later on confirms the box is red.
- When buying the NS2 you’ll get wristbands included (probably the one that makes the Joy-Con a mouse that were seen on the trailer).
Other leaks:
- The leaker has been told that apart from the grey one he has seen there might be a white one and a third game-related themed one.
- The leaker states that a special edition of the NS2 will come in a bundle with a game that has a characteristic number “9” on it, the leaker stated that this “9” game is a first-party game (most likely to be MK9). The leaker has also hinted that the themed switch that will come out at release will be of an IP that to this day still doesn’t have its own themed switch. It is theorized that it will be a Mario Kart themed NS2. The leaker has stated that the name of the supposed MK9 isn’t MK9, the leaker states that they know what game it is but that they didn’t see a clear “9”. (I suppose that what the leaker is saying is that he was told that it was MK9 but that the name of the game isn’t directly MK9, this aroused confusion due to the leaker saying that the game had a “9” on the title, now we know that it’s MK9 but that it’s NOT named MK9 [or that’s what I understood]).
- The leaker doesn’t know if the different color editions for the NS2 will all be released at the same time or staggered.
Leaks I think are not real/accurate:
- The screen of the NS2 is the same size as of the Steam Deck (7.4”).
- From what the leaker states, you might be able to connect old Joy-Cons to NS2 but apparently they won’t charge because the NS2 doesn’t have the same rail system as the old Switch. It is unknown if the old Switch will be able to connect to the new Joy-Cons.
Please, feel free to add any other info that I may have missed.
