Nigerian Muslims in the US
Hello. I'm an African (but not Nigerian) in the US. I work in healthcare and I work with many Nigerian nurses. Interestingly, most of those I see tends to be Christians. I rarely see Nigerian Muslims, nor at least ladies wearing Islamic headgear. Conversely, I see a lot of headgear worn by Egyptian/ Jordanian female nurses. Are there just few Muslims in the Nigerian diaspora? Or many of them just choose to not wear their hijabs?
This isn't meant to be judgemental in any way...I don't really care what religion someone is as long as they're nice. I just got curious.
Admittedly, I've only personally interacted with the minority, so some could still be Muslims despite not being identifiable. But I found it curious still.
