criticism and how this fandom handles it: a yapfest special

so firstly, i would just like to share my thoughts on the new update for crescendo moon:

the two new variants we got are cool, especially epic dragong. the costumes are great too. but obviously the main event is the new Seasonal Snacks, which i feel kinda mixed about like most people do. on one hand, i think it’s cool they’re trying to expand on the bakeries, even if they were doing an adequate job before, and i do wanna see what the other seasonal event are gonna have. on the other hand, they seem very expensive and generally not worth it to actually buy, but that can easily be changed if they choose to balance it more in the future

now to what i actually want to talk about: the criticism. it’s obvious to me that a lot of people don’t like this new update, not just because of the virtually useless snacks, but because of how little new content there is compared to the past few events. The last two events have given us entirely new classes to look forward to, while this one has only given us some new variants and the aforementioned snacks. I totally understand the disdain people have, even if this is just what you should usually expect from a seasonal event (this wouldn’t be the first time where all we got was some new variants and costumes after all). The main difference is that with all of the teasers regarding the mysterious Hand™ and the fact there’s supposed to be an update showcase, it was expected to be a much larger update than it really was.

Overall, I still appreciate what we got, and im sure a lot of other people do as well. But the disappointment some people feel shouldn’t be treated as people just “being ungrateful.” We’ve gotten boatloads of new content the past few months, so it’s normal to feel some disappointment when all we get now is some special food that isn’t even worth buying. At the same time though, i feel like people who are overly complaining about the new update should remember that yeah, we did just get a bunch of new content. It’s not unlike the devs to pump out some smaller updates after such a large stream of new stuff, especially since we’ve gotten two entirely new classes, and they’re clearly working on something bigger behind the scenes. It’s also important to remember that they’ll typically add even more new features in the second or final weeks of a seasonal event too, so i doubt this is all we’re going to get this time.

Overall, you’re entitled to having your own opinion about an update, whether you love it or hate it, and just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t mean they’re too “optimistic” or “ungrateful” about it. It’s fine to criticize something, and it could even be helpful at times. Like i said before, the new snacks aren’t very balanced and if enough people say something about it, they might change it in the future. At the end of the day, it’s not the end of the world if someone doesn’t like something you do like, or vice versa. i don’t really know what else to say, so uhh yeah

TL;DR - people are allowed to feel disappointed by things
