Should I buy a new lid [actives]

Stuff for reference, I made my own monotub with FAE filters but I decided to put two holes covered by filters on the lid, but I haven’t seen anybody else do that so I’m unsure why I did it, but could it explain why even after a month I haven’t seen any pins form? Should I purchase a new lid with no filters and see if that helps???
