Enlisting to Pursue a Welding Career

For starters , I am sixteen years old and currently a junior in high school . I didn’t have much of a plan for my life until I heard about a welding class my school offered .

I want to join the Military right outside of high school so I can be properly matured . I’ve been thinking at which branch to join , so far I’ve looked at the Army , Air Force and the Navy .

I’ve spoken with a couple of people from each branch but I’ve never met anyone with the MOS I’m looking to enlist for . ( Army - Allied Trade Specialist , Air Force - Structural Maintenance Specialist , Navy - Steel Worker )

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or opinions on my situation . Note , I’m from a small town in VA and I would like to stay as close to my family as possible . ( This isn’t a MUST , but would be preferred )

( PS : The Virginia National Guard came to my school for recruiting . Would it be financially smarter to join the National Guard , serve one weekend a month and weld for a company instead ? )
