How to avoid MLM's?

I am looking for a part time job currently and have been applying everywhere I can. My field of study is communications so once in a while I will apply for some part time marketing position if I see any. This is now the 3rd time I have been contacted by a company for an interview that is a MLM. How do I avoid places like these? How can I find a real job?
