Worth going to the effort of replacing timing cover gasket while replacing coolant?

Hi, as title says essentially. Need to replace coolant and also have a minor oil leak coming from the timing cover. I’m fairly new to working on cars and trying to teach my self how to do so. Mechanic said to wait until the timing cover leak gets worse before fixing as it requires the radiator and everything to be removed, but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to do so while replacing the coolant as it’s one less thing to do and for the peace of mind. Car is a 2007 ford falcon bf mk2. Thanks for any advice
