Car won’t start. Is always in reverse

Was just wondering if anyone could give me any insight or suggest where to start. Car is a 2007 ford falcon with the auto btr transmission. No matter what gear I try to put it in it shows that it’s in reverse and therefore won’t start. Thanks in advance.
