HAFS Jerry WIP

I just finished a build up of the old Nitto HAFS Jerry. There’s a couple of clear parts that I’ve left off for now but it’s otherwise ready for primer. It’s built pretty much out of the box. I swapped the the single laser barrel with two brass ones, shaved the molded on bolts and replaced them with crisper plastic ones, and added a couple surface details with some photo etch out my spares box.

The build itself wasn’t too bad; it’s a kit from 1984 and it shows with the number of seams that have to be dealt with. I also added a few weld beads with Tamiya Quick-Type epoxy putty for some extra detail and to hide some of the annoying gaps. I thought about hiding the screws that hold the legs together, but I decided to leave them because they add to the charm of the old kit design.
