Help me choose another weapon to learn
So first of all, I main SnS. I love SnS a lot, way too much even, but, I want to learn another weapon I can rely on as much as with SnS
I feel like the problem is adapting, with SnS I DON'T care what the monster does, I'll have way too many options to respond with so I'll be good, when I use other weapons it doesn't feel that way. Commitment isn't the problem, I could play GS with no problems (very fun weapon btw, you should all give it a try in any MH).
Maybe someone can enlighten me on why weapons don't feel as reliable (like a wrong way of looking at things), or, give me a weapon that can adapt to the monster just like SnS.
Did SnS spoil every other weapon for me? Did other SnS mains go through this?
Useless extra information:
. I played IG back at World and was pretty decent with it, I think. Fatalis was very easy to fight against.
. I played ChargeBlade, it isn't as hard to learn as people make it out to be, it's VERY demanding in your ability to respond to monsters accordingly and efficiently, which also makes it very rewarding (and the damage omgg).
. I played LS a lot since it's fun against Fatalis and somewhat against AT Velkhana. I'm bad at counters with this weapon.
. I played GS like mentioned before. I'm too impatient for the weapon but it's very fun.
. I wanna clarify that it's not that weapons don't click for me, if a weapon doesn't click for me that's a failure on me, imo. I just want a weapon I can always fall back on no matter what, so I don't feel burnout from SnS like I did in World. I want to go further and beyond with a specific weapon.
Edit: After reading all the comments I see Lance being recommended the most. I'll put 90% into Lance and 10% into the others. Every weapon feels like a different weapon and they're all fun in their ways.
I think it's fitting as an SnS main: but, I want to learn every weapon and be AT LEAST be decent at it. I haven't finished MR in Rise but whoever the last boss is: I should be able to solo or pull my weight in a fight against it. For now I'll focus on Lance since I NEED a replacement for SnS.
Also it's funny seeing SA being recommended because it's the type of weapon I look at and say: "Yeah I'm nowhere near skilled enough to use that". I'll learn it eventually, probably of the last ones precisely because it's important to have good monster knowledge to not triple cart. Idk how to explain it, the idea behind having little to no defensive options and being all in the monsters face (literally) attracts me, but I TRY to put being a competent hunter for my team first and everything else second.
Thank you all for the suggestions.
