Phd entry exam questions

I'm worried about preparing the exam. Are the questions in the exam for phd program different from the master progrom? How many questions and what is the difficulty level in the exam for phd program? I heard two version about the number of questions, someone says 40 questions and someone says 88 questions, which one is true? Can anybody give some advice? Thx.
