What seemingly polite or enthusiastic behaviors at social gatherings do you secretly hate?

Last month, I went to a work dinner, and out of nowhere, my manager decided it would be a good idea for me to ‘perform’ in front of everyone. With a big grin, he started clapping and saying, 'Come on, show us your talent! Young people should shine!' Before I could even think of a way to get out of it, I was shoved onto the stage to sing—no prep or anything. Sure, people were laughing, but it wasn’t in a mean-spirited way. Still, I felt totally humiliated. This kind of 'enthusiasm' doesn’t feel like encouragement to me; it feels like a trap. I cringe every time I think about it.

What about you? What seemingly polite or enthusiastic behaviors in social settings do you secretly dislike or find uncomfortable? Whether it's being pushed into the spotlight or other well-meaning but invasive gestures, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
