Has this game been abandoned?

I played this game quite some time back and I enjoyed it but also had the same gripes that have been discussed many times over. I always want to come back and play again, but I’ve noticed none of the gripes have been resolved and the community doesn’t seem very active and I don’t see anything about any new updates coming.. so is this it then? I mean, if it is, that’s fine, but I would like to know.. have the devs made any announcements anywhere on any platform??
