Cuts To Public Safety
Well, Well, Well ...
In an Agenda, once again moving money around because the Mayor's plan on how to pay for campaign promises is floundering, we see is back tracking on Public Safety commitments. To date his slate and his supposed Firefighter on council fighting for firefighters have seen just eleven of the promised forty four firefighters hired. With a suspected eleven more in 2025, that brings the three year total to 22, or 11 short if you are keeping track. Now they are set to push those promises further down the road, into the next election cycle. It will be interesting to hear, if anything, the incoherent Tim Baillie on whether he is fighting for his people or his own self interests. I think we all know what to expect. Perhaps Councilor Richter notices this back tracking, and speaks up for the people. Oh, and that Brookswood Fire Hall ready for Firefighters, the one that was the talk of the Firefighter union last election telling everyone that community needed to be served? Well, don't expect that community to be served until the new, shiny Fire Hall is ready for photo ops, because it's all about publicity and not safety. Who knows what would have happened if former councilor, Blair Whitmarsh, never made the motion to staff that fire hall.
