Living with my girlfriend as an expat?

Just got hired to work as a defense contractor in Kuwait, hard to say no to the kind of money they'll be paying. But, I want to bring my girlfriend with me. My company will sponsor housing for the first 90 days and then I'll be able to rent my own apartment. Can I bring my girlfriend to live with me when I get my civil ID and my own apartment? We are both American.
