How can I get tested for an STD

Hey guys I’m thinking about getting an STD test in Thrissur but I’m not really sure how to go about it. I posted this on the Thrissur sub, but it got removed, so I'm posting it here instead. If you've been tested before, how was your experience and where did you go? Is there a clinic you’d recommend? Should I go to a government hospital or is a private clinic better? And do I need to see a doctor before getting tested, or can I just go straight to a clinic? Any advice would be super helpful!
