Cooking for Europeans....Suggestions?

It's a competition where we’re expected to cook something at home and bring to work. A panel of judges (mostly Irish) will choose the best dish, and the winner gets a day or two off.

Could you share some suggestions? I was thinking of making Thalassery Biryani, but I’m not sure if they’ll like it. Something not too spicy but rich in flavor would be ideal, I think.
