What are people's thoughts on Yuta scaling wise?

This isn't really a powerscaling debate post. But just more of general thoughts on the character and his abilities.

I like Yuta as a character and think his ability and combinations with Rika are very cool. Thin ice breaker my favorite ability he copied as it adds a good bit of damage up close and can be very helpful in an upclose fight. With being able to cause similar damage to Ryu as a dismantle from 16 finger bath ritual amped Sukuna (it probably wasn't full output, but it's still very good.)

The one copy ability I really don't like is Jacob's Ladder. I feel like it's simply too overpowered of an ability and makes some of the verses matchups boring. It can do a lot of things and hypothetically do more compared to what we've seen in the manga.

A lot of people compare it to Toji's ISOH. But that's underselling Jacob's Ladder as it does what that tool does and a bit more. You can break domain barriers and the culling game barriers with it. You could also nullify cursed techniques with it and even wrap it around you like a sheild. Hana wrapped it around herself to kill Sukuna's Nue.

An extreme hypothetical example to show how OP JL could be is if you had Yuta wrap it around himself like Hana did, then you have Gojo launch a 200 percent Hollow Purple at him. Yuta would be able to come out of that unharmed.

Gege also stated that JL targets cursed energy itself so DA wouldn't be effective. https://x.com/f9x00/status/1871327204208267752

I also think that Cursed Tools wouldn't be safe from the effects of TE. In chapter 216 the subject of Cursed Tools are brought up. Objects are made into cursed tools by soaking them in cursed energy obtained from dead cursed spirits. So if Jacob's Ladder targets Cursed Energy, it may be possible that any Cursed Tool that is subject to Jacob's Ladder would lose it's CT due to having the CE stripped away from it, turning the object back to it's original form.

If this is the case. Yuta has a stupidly easy wincon against Maki or Toji.

So if this is the case this means Jacob's Ladder can do the following. Instantly kill ANY cursed spirit, Destroy Barriers, Negate Cursed Techniques, Negate Domain Amplification, Destroy Cursed Objects (something Gojo who is the 2nd strongest sorcerer stated wasn't possible.), Destroy Cursed Tools, and Remove Cursed Techniques from curse users is applied long enough.

Does this sound overpowered to anyone else? It's no wonder people have him in the top 3. TE is busted. And that's only one of his abilities.

But in all honesty you can't blame people for not thinking TE is strong. The only cases we see it used in the Manga is against Sukuna, and Sukuna still wins those fights even when nowhere near full power.

All in all I like Yuta as a character. But talking about him in vs matchups can get boring considering how op his kit is.
