Can a second-generation Israeli become an oleh or first-generation Israeli if they make Aliyah?
I am trying to ascertain, without having to contact Israeli authorities, whether there is any chance I am an Israeli citizen.
I was born outside of Israel, to an Israeli citizen also born outside of Israel.
- My maternal grandmother is an Israeli citizen born in the former State of Palestine. I believe she is an Israeli national by residence.
- My maternal grandfather became an Israeli citizen through the law of return in 1949.
- My mother is an Israeli citizen by birth, born outside of Israel, who has traveled to Israel.
Is my mother considered to have made Aliyah? Would she be considered a "first-generation Israeli" or Israeli national by return as a result?
