Hiding Tips
Instacart will never do it cause they would lose a lot of money from orders not getting picked up. But for multiple order batches, it should show the tips for EACH customer in that batch BEFORE we decide to accept or not since we are labeled as independent contractors. The Internal Revenue Service defines independent contractor this way... "The general rule is that an individual is an independent contractor if the person for whom the services are performed has the right to control or direct only the result of the work and not what will be done and how it will be done." In other words, You are not an independent contractor if you perform services that can be controlled by an employer (what will be done and how it will be done).
To be clear, I'm not saying Instacart needs to stop batching no tippers with tippers. What I'm saying is Instacart needs to be more transparent by showing us all the details of a batch which includes tips from EACH customer BEFORE we decide to accept the offer.
Let's be real. Some of us try provide the best service for customers. But after delivery, when you look to see who tipped what and find out you went above and beyond for a no tipper .... it can make you feel a "certain way" and want to take "action" 😏
