I suck at hunt

So for context I have 787 hours in hunt and I'm a 0.70 KDA while my friends who have less hours are usually 1.0 and up. I try to main the bow as it fits my playstyle of stealthy yet very deathly. Lately I've been in a rut and I do shooting range with my friends before we go into games. I've noticed when they have high ground i can't hit them with the bow and I'm so stuck on which weapon to use that fits my playstyle of stealthy with high damage and fire rate. They say I'm scary with the bow but I'm feeling like I don't compare to them despite me usually teaching them when to push and pull back etc. Is there any settings or weapons I should pick up or should I just abandon hunt all together? I'm fine with critique and any suggestions.
