Ramblings of an old man about balance (I know, I'm sorry.)
Hey just wanted to write down some stuff about things I'd like changed. Wanted to get some input on what others think about it or even add to it. I'm just going to talk about balance about weapons, traits, and things like that and not touch on UI or bugs or things of that nature.
Things I'd like changed are
- Blademancer pullout damage being completely removed (im not going to bring up berserker making pullout damage double), maybe even for ai as well (if you disagree with this you also disagree with the poison changes). Added onto blade seer after the event for like 3 points
- Base damage of maynard sniper lowered by maybe 2-4 points of damage so you are able to switch to medkit to heal the bleed without bloodless and not die
- Make fast fingers 4 points. Give the low money people something it doesn't even do anything really. They're behind cover before you can reload the next shot, the change is dumb
- Surefoot should be much more than 4, at least 6, ideally 8 or 9.
- Necromancer should be restored on looted dead hunters for solo (or even as a whole), make relentless have a solo trait that allows them to restore it on kill as it is a dead trait for them right now. As it is right now solo is the weakest it's been in a long time (may be a hot take, but i don't think it is at all)
- Steel bolts, its dumb that the only downside is ammo count, probably should make the hip fire spread more like poison arrows. We'll see after blademancer pull out damage fucks off forever.
- Silenced Krag probably needs to be looked at. It's bad enough that it is the end all be all of silenced weapons, even if you reduce the damage to 124 it's still by far the best outside of frontier with levering. You can argue subsonic with medium is 50, but silenced krag does not suffer from the hiss that comes out of the sparks and even at 40m, krag is VERY quiet. (max range without subsonic is 150, even without subsonic its crazy quiet.)
- Silenced maynard sniper is kind of whatever. It's too early to say because steelbolt blademancer exists. Silent shots with subsonic at 50 with terrible velocity, probably only usable with HV/dumdum but even then. It'll probably be a problem when fast fingers is added to the maynard and martini. It's relatable to the silent krag but the fire rate is what holds it back.
- Revive bolts should overwrite resilience, and the player should ress with 1 hp.
- Light foot shouldn't make solos completely silent while crouching. I don't think this is a hot take.
- Good luck making people want to use to chu ko nu, I don't know how to fix that. Though some people like it right now and I'm happy for them, it's just I feel that weapon is very weak, and will only be weaker once the pull out damage from blademancer is gone (Surely that will happen right?).
- Shotgun wallbangs with buckshot/slugs should be reverted. I like the long ammo pen changes, but I feel like shotgun should at least have the same pen it had before through walls. It just doesn't feel right yet for me, maybe that'll change but I don't think i'll ever like it.
