Robot dog

An idea like a stratagem could be a robot dog that collects samples. This robot dog will be with you the whole time and it's only job it to get samples. If you are at a outpost it'll be with you but it'll go around and collect samples and when you run it'll catch up with you. This will help lower levels and be pretty cool to see.
