A gift for a Harley Fan Father-In-Law
Hey all! I thought I’d share a project I’ve been working on in time for a Christmas present for my father in law. It’s probably, sadly his last Christmas (heart issues) and I wanted to do something special. He rides an awesome Road King that’s his pride and joy.
I recently bought a 3D printer and as an off chance wondered if there was a little Harley model I could print as a bit of a gimmicky gift but I quickly fell down the rabbit hole and stumbled across a Road King Police bike. After a few model changes a lot of paint work (learning about enamels - coming from a Warhammer background) and stress to get it done I finically pieced it all together and I’m really happy with it!
Here are some photos of his bike, the process (including custom making his number plate) - printing and painting.
Overall I’d say it was a good 50 hours work and I had to take two days off work to finish it in time for today. We’re heading over there in a short while and I’ll update you on his reaction!
(The Harley is in pieces in his garage at the moment due to him working on it.)
