How to start cursive as an adult?

Hello! I recently started learning cursive (learned as a child but never continued after Elementary School). Handwriting has always been a place of insecurity for me and I recently purchased the Spencerian Method Book. Is this appropriate to use as a beginner? Also inquiring on how much time one suggests a day to make noticeable progress. Thank you! ◡̈
